RotD Success Stories
Record of the Day's support for new and exciting music really brings results for artists and records. Featuring the best new music is a vital and gratifying part of RotD's role in the industry. We're delighted to report that we have helped a great many artists increase their profile, sign deals and move their careers to the next level. In the last year we have achieved some fantastic results. Here follows a selection of case studies which prove that Record of the Day's support is both a meaningful and highly powerful endorsement.

You can’t simply buy a Record of the Day soundclip placing. Each track we promote is selected by our editorial team: notably Pete Jarrett and music consultant Joe Taylor. Only their ears can influence our music selections.

We look forward to exposing and helping to break many more artists in coming years. Not only do we break new artists, but we give more established artists an important piece of promotion by ensuring that their latest track, and our endorsement, is delivered direct to key media decision makers. For every artist which secures a deal after being featured on RotD, there are also many more who receive rafts of feedback, advice and new contacts. We have the power to make a huge difference. Scouting For Girls

30 Jun 2010

First featured: April 3rd 2007 Result: signed to RCA, showcase gig organised by RotD, publishing deal. Sarah Pearson from Wasted Youth told us about a band who were just about to sign with Epic and shared some bedroom demos with us. 'Elvis Ain't Dead' was the first track we featured in April 2007. Not only did we keep up our support as Epic's campaign got underway the following year, but we also hosted a showcase gig for them which saw many publishers turn out. A deal with EMI Publishing followed soon after. One of the most successful UK pop signings this decade, their first album was the 10th biggest-selling album of 2008 and the track we first featured in demo form was one of their four Top Ten hits to date. It's good then that the MD of their record label is such a fan of ours: a€œRotD is a great informative tool for anybody who is serious about music. They bring new music and the latest industry based stories to my desk every morning. Their weekly magazine is one of the best digital publications I read full stop.a€? - Nick Raphael, MD, Epic Records.
