Greg Kot has been the Tribune's music critic covering pop, rock and hip-hop since 1990.
My Biography

In addition to his duties as Tribune music critic, Greg cohosts a nationally syndicated show on public radio, "Sound Opinions," and is the author of several books, including "Ripped: How the Wired Generation Revolutionized Music" and "Wilco: Learning How to Die." He lives in Chicago with his wife and two daughters.
My Interests

Greg is a youth basketball coach in his spare time, helping run a youth travel program called Over the Edge. He coauthered the book "Survival Guide for Coaching Youth Basketball." He attends baseball games regularly, and keeps a scorecard. Though his skills from several years of classical training have long since faded, he still occasionally plays piano. Prefers strong coffee, Italian red wine, and histories of World War II and the Civil War.
