Committees


Steering Board (SB)

The Steering Board is comprised of elected representativies from WorldDMB member organisations and meets quarterly. The SB overseas the operational and financial management of the Forum.  It implements decicions made at the WorldDMB General Assembly. The Steering Board also implements strategic measures to ensure the successful roll out of the Eureka 147 Family of Standards.

 

Technical Committee (TC)

The Technical Committee oversees the standardisation of Eureka 147, which is the basis for both DAB / DAB+ and DMB technology. It ensures that receiver equipment and broadcast technologies are compatible. The TC also upgrades and advances the standard in line with other technical developments. Finally, the Technical Committee looks to future-proof all DAB equipment (both receiver and broadcast based).

Regulatory and Spectrum Committee (RSC)

The RSC provides useful guidance on the advantages of different regulatory approaches needed in countries with varying regulatory needs. A vital role of the RSC is to produce a regulatory model and to identify possible routes to common regulatory frameworks to facilitate the introduction DAB/DAB+/ DMB services internationally. The RSC actively lobbys to ensure the availability in the medium-to-long term of sufficient DAB based frequencies beyond those already allocated and safe guard those frequencies currently allocated.

Marketing Committee (MC)

The main objective of the Marketing Committee is to promote Eureka 147 market development and encourage a marketing culture among members. The MC seeks to promote DAB/DAB+/DMB market development among members enables broadcasters, manufacturers and network operators direct contact with retailers, consumers, car manufacturers and other key groups. This committee provides the setting in which to benchmark, share best practice and encourages a marketing culture.

European DAB Committee (EAC)

The EAC aims to monitor and respond to EC policy initiatives on behalf of WorldDMB. It also aims to raise the profile of DAB/DAB+/DMB within European institutions and act as a reference point and a co-ordinating agent, where appropriate, for approaches by WorldDMB members to the EC or other EU Institutions.

World DMB Asia Committee (WAC)

WorldDMB Asia members now represent a large percentage of the Forum. In order to aid in the successful roll out of digital broadcasting across the region the WAC committee was formed. This committee meets regularly throughout Asia to meet the unique needs and concerns of the region. The WAC serves as a multifunctional committee, including both marketing, technical and strategy tasks.
