Danielle Nagler to leave BBC

Danielle Nagler, head of hd

Danielle Nagler, head of BBC HD and 3D, is leaving the BBC in September to work for a city law firm.

Nagler has been responsible for the BBC's HD development for the last four years, most recently launching BBC One HD last November. She also led a team looking at 3D content development, which led to this year's Wimbledon finals being shown in 3D for the first time.

Paying tribute to Nagler director of Archive Content Roly Keating said she had done a 'tremendous job', adding: 'I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Danielle for the exceptional contribution she has made to the BBC, and to Vision in particular: her passion, intellect, energy and drive have made remarkable things happen here, and she'll be much missed.'

Nagler's role will not be replaced when she leaves with Janice Hadlow taking on responsibility for the HD channel. An announcement on how responsibility for Vision's 3D strategy will be dealth with in future will be made 'in due course.'

Other members of Nagler's team, Ian Potts and Umme Ali, are also moving on. Potts will leave the BBC at the end of year.
