About WorldDMB
The
WorldDMB
Forum is an international non-governmental organisation whose objective is to promote the awareness, adoption and implementation of
Eureka 147
based services worldwide. It is dedicated to encouraging international co-operation and co-ordination between sound and data broadcasters, network providers, manufacturers, governments and official bodies, thus gaining consensus for the smooth introduction of
DAB
based services. The organisation's name, WorldDMB, refers to 'Digital Multimedia Broadcasting' including radio, mobile TV and broadcast new media services.
The Forum represents more than
80 companies
and organisations from all sections of the broadcasting industry and from 24 countries. They include public and private broadcasters, DAB/
DAB+
/
DMB
receiver and other electronic equipment manufacturers; transmission providers; regulators and governmental bodies.
WorldDMB is dedicated to the promotion of Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB), the advanced standard DAB+ and Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) around the world. Over 500 million people around the world can now receive more than 1100 different DAB services. Commercial DAB receivers have now been on the market since summer 1998. There are now more than 320 different
DAB and DMB receivers commercially
available around the world.
