Moon Duo : "Stumbling 22nd St."

"Stumbling 22nd St."

Moon Duo are the combined forces of Wooden Shjips '?Erik Johnson and?Sanae Yamada, and following a couple of singles this year, they're releasing a debut full-length on Woodsist in 2010. "Stumbling 22nd St.", a gauzy, lo-fi rock number built on a repetitive riff, goes on for nearly seven minutes and presents a pretty epic introduction to this band.

MillionYoung : "Hammock"

"Hammock"

Last month we reviewed "Weak Ends" from Florida's MillionYoung , and now we've got another selection from his blissed-out S unndreamm EP, which is just as sun-baked and tropical as its moniker suggests (you can download the EP for free here ). "Hammock"-- whose title should also provide a clue about its contents-- is another tune with flecks of jangling guitar and echoed vocals lazily swinging back and forth across its channels.

Tanlines : "Saw"

"Saw"

We've been following Rising Brooklyn artists Tanlines for a little while now, especially for their remix work (Au Revoir Simone's "Shadows" and the Tough Alliance's " A New Chance" stand out), but we've finally got an original track with original vocals, and you have to wonder why these guys weren't showing off their pipes before. Check out the chugging disco of "Saw", out on the FADER/Southern Comfort 7" series , the flip of which is a new track by SALEM. Fader is giving away copies of the vinyl over here .

Po Po : "Knife Iz Yung"

"Knife Iz Yung"

Mad Decent may be home to Dipl o's globetrotting beat-head aesthetic, but that hasn't kept the label from reaching out into more conventional territory with the signing of Philly's? Po Po , who on the evidence here have an ear for lo-fi punk. Their summer 2010 album on Mad Decent is slated to feature production by?Diplo and Ariel Rechtshaid ( Cass McCombs , Foreign Born ).

Mos Def : "Supermagic"

"Supermagic"

Here's a new clip for Mos De f's excellent "Supermagic", the album opener from this year's The Ecstatic . Produced by Oh No and featuring a fearsome sample of Turkish psych legend Selda, the video plays it straight, just Mos in front of the camera with a few mirror effects, as if it were his own iPod ad.
