WTTW11 Launches New Children's Line-Up
Two new shows debut on September 1; revised schedule starts September 2
Chicago, IL
- WTTW11, Chicago's most-watched television station for children 2-11, will be making some changes to its 6:00 am - 6:00 pm children's television programming, beginning on Monday, September 1, 2008.
Two new PBS shows,
Martha Speaks
and
Sid the Science Kid
, will make their WTTW11 debut with a day of special programming devoted to their new episodes, beginning at 7:30 am on Labor Day and running until 5:00 pm
Martha Speaks
, based on the best-selling books by Susan Meddaugh, follows the adventures of Martha. She's the beloved family dog whose appetite for alphabet soup gives her the power of human speech. Targeting 4-to-7-year-olds,
Martha Speaks
' amusing episodes are designed help bolster young children's vocabulary.
Sid's his name. Exploring is his game.
Sid the Science Kid
explores the wonders of everyday science. This new animated television series uses comedy to promote exploration, discovery and science readiness among preschoolers, and is co-produced by The Jim Henson Company.
