Responsibility for diagnosis and treatment of influenza patients transferred to health centres
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has decided to transfer main responsibility of the treatment of H1N1 influenza to health centres as from July 27, 2009. At the same time, it was decided to remove H1N1 influenza from the list of generally dangerous infectious diseases. In practice, this means that quarantines and protection measures for patients will be reduced and laboratory examinations will be limited to apply only to the critically ill in-patients. Antiviral drugs will be prescribed only to those suffering from severe symptoms and those belonging to the high-risk groups.
