Field testing of high-definition television technology should be completed by Aug 14, 1994, with a full report on the results due by the end of August. The vestigial sideband transmission hardware from Zenith is said to have performed well. Digital transmissions were measured at 199 sites and compared to NTSC transmissions. About two weeks worth of data was lost when one station suspended testing because of interference problems.
