MULTAN: Kanwar Intizar Mohammad Khan, a senior lawyer, has filed an application for the revival of C-130 aircraft case in which 32 persons including President Zia-ul-Haq, General Akhtar Abdul Rehman, Lt. Gen. Mian Afzaal, Major Gen. Samiullah, Maj. Gen. Mehr Mohammad Hussain, Brigadiers Najib Ahmed, Abdul Majid, Mueenuddin, Siddiq Salik, Col. Safdar Mohammad Squadron Leader Rahat Majid Siddiqui, US Ambassador Arnold Raphel, Brig. Wassim and others were killed.
After preliminary hearing, Assistant Commissioner, Lodhran, referred this case to District and Sessions Judge, Lodhran, under Section 190 (3) Cr. P.C and the Sessions Court would hear the case on May 9, 1996.
The applicant alleged that Mirza Aslam Beg, COAS, Gen. (Retd) Shamim Alam Khan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Mohammad Shafiq, Lt. General Mehmood Ali Durrani and Major General Sarfraz Cheema had hatched a conspiracy to slay General Zia-ul-Haq at the behest of the United States.
He submitted that General Zia-ul-Haq wanted to remove Aslam Beg because he had plotted to bring a resolution against Zia-ul-Haq in the house of Mohammad Khan Junejo but secret agencies informed him.
He submitted that all the accused should be hanged 30 times under Section 302-34 and 109 PPC and seven years rigorous imprisonment under section 201 PPC.
