1. CrisisWatch database

CrisisWatch is a 12-page monthly bulletin designed to provide busy readers in the policy community, media, business and interested general public with a succinct regular update on the state of play in all the most significant situations of conflict or potential conflict around the world.

You can you use the CrisisWatch database to follow developments in any conflict situation covered by CrisisWatch for any month from 1 September 2003. The database contains the entries from the current and all past editions of CrisisWatch .

There are two ways of searching. The first is to select a country from the drop down menu and (optionally) a year. The second is to search using keywords.

To see this month's CrisisWatch bulletin in full click here .

2. Conflict Histories database

The Conflict Histories database offers brief but detailed histories of the conflicts covered by Crisis Group analysts (for more information on Crisis Group's activities, see  About us ), compiled from publicly-available sources. The database contains information on over 50 countries, and is a useful complement to the CrisisWatch database, which provides up-to-date information on conflict developments in countries around the world.

Crisis Group’s conflict histories represent one view of a conflict's history at the time of writing. They are not a substitute for individual research or for the extensive professional literature associated with the majority of these conflicts.

You can search the database by selecting a country from the drop down menu.

4. Research Resources & Links

As part of our continued effort to develop our website as a portal for conflict prevention resources, Crisis Group has enhanced its Research Resources & Links webpage.  This page includes links to the major international and regional organisations, peacekeeping operations, government aid agencies, research centres and think tanks, NGOs and humanitarian organisations working in the fields related to conflict prevention and analysis.

5. Early Warning Resources

Early warning is a critical part of conflict prevention and management, and a core element of Crisis Group's mission.  We have compiled a useful list of Early Warning Resources , with links to early warning websites ? for violent conflicts, humanitarian crises and natural disasters; risk analysis services; conflict trend analyses; and daily news services for the most current conflict-related information.

6. Advocacy campaign pages

We have a number of "priority advocacy pages" to the website, accesible here or via the buttons on the right-hand side of the home page . These pages highlight those conflicts which we have selected for particular advocacy attention. They pull together extensive resources on the conflicts, setting out the current situation and background, and outlining what action Crisis Group is seeking. They also provide links to maps, key statistics and documents, Crisis Group reports and op-eds, and reports and reporting by other organisations.  As well, these pages offer suggestions as to what you can do to help.

They are essentially a one-stop-shop for internet resources on the conflict in question. You can access the advocacy campaign pages here .

RSS feeds, or channels, are currently available for Crisis Group's reports, briefing papers and monthly CrisisWatch . These can be read through a program called a news reader or aggregator.

There are numerous RSS readers available free on the web.  You can find them by doing a simple search.  The Google RSS directory has a comprehensive list of readers.
