New Bassplayer in Moonlight Agony
A while ago bassplayer Christofer Starnefalk announced his departure from the band. Moonlight Agony immediately contacted Christer "Zigge" Pedersen (Dragonland, Nightshade) to fill the empty spot. Christer was involved in mixing some early Moonlight Agony demos and his addition to the band brings both excellent bassplaying as well as great experience in the genre.
Zigge did the bassplaying on the upcoming album "Silent Waters".

Starne was a member in Moonlight Agony from the beginning and we'd like to thank him for the time and effort he has put into the band through the years.

Vocals almost completed

David has completed almost all vocals the past week, and most of the backing vocals have been recorded as well. However, before the recording was finished David unfortunately became horse =). The recording will continue in May.

Due to an Evergrey tour in USA Arnold is busy in May and the mix has been postponed to June. Then the masterpiece is finally completed!

Studio updates
Robert finished recording the drums this evening and David just arrived from Malm? for vocal recordings in the upcoming week. All guitars, both solos and rhythm, were recorded in the past weeks. Robert wore the same pair of socks throughout the entire recording and they will be auctioned out to the highest bidder :).

Studio dates set
We're happy to announce that dates has been set for the recording of the upcoming album.
We're gonna use the excellent Division One Studios for the recording and the sound wizard Arnold Lindberg will be our engineer.

We'll start recording drums in mid March and are aiming to have the entire album recorded by the end of April.

The album will contain 10 tracks among which "Through the Desert Storm" and "Leaving Solitude" are two of the song titles.

Pre-production recorded
The past week David recorded vocals on all the new songs for the pre-production of the upcoming album. We're very satisfied with the result and there are only some minor adjustments to be done until we can enter a studio and record the album. Some lyrics are still to be written, a few parts need to be transposed to fit David's voice and some orchestral arrangements are still to be done. We're gettin' there!

NEW VOCALIST IN MOONLIGHT AGONY!
We've spent the autumn searching for a new singer and, despite stiff competition, we finally found our guy in David ?kesson. We're all happy with the fruit our auditions did bare and we're all very thrilled to start working with this talented young singer. It's a killer voice that fits the Moonlight Agony sound like a glove. Prepare for more gigs and a damn fine second album!

A while ago Moonlight Agony and Chitral Somapala decided to go separate ways. Since the band and Chity live so far from eachother, rehearsing and playing live has always been a problem. That's the main reason why we decided to end our time together as a band. We're all still friends and everything is cool between us.

Big news to come!

Within a not too distant future Moonlight Agony will reveal some important?and big news.

The upcoming album recordning is closing in and we will write a studio-diary as a compensation for the rather rare site updates recently. The reason why we haven't updated the news for a while is basically that there hasn't been a lot to write. We've been working constantly with the new material to make it as great as possible and we're quite convinced that all our fans will enjoy the result.

Nothing
"The new Moonlight Agony CD is a breath of fresh air to the symphonic progressive metal genre. Vocals with distinct yet driving voices that create a killer melodic explosion, beautifully played keyboards and solid driving guitars make Echoes Of A Nightmare an outstanding addition to anyone?s catalogue."

Easter day
Lately the band has been busy writing new material for the upcoming album. We have been very productive and now have more songs than we actually need. We are very happy of that fact and are already preparing for a preproduction some time this summer.

February update
It's been a while since the last update, but that doesn't mean that nothing has happened the last two months.
We're currently writing new songs for our 2nd album. We have completed four ass kicking songs and some more are half finished. So far so good.
A pre-production is planned in early fall.

COMPETITION
In the lyrics of one of the songs, there?s a bizarre encrypted message. Read the lyrics carefully and if you crack the riddle, send a mail to info@moonlightagony.com.
A Moonlight Agony T-shirt to the winner!
The crypt is in swedish so foreign visitors may have trouble finding out what it is. Why don't I write this in Swedish then? I don't know. Anyway, good luck.

A winner is drawn the 27th of September!
