Consensus Building and Democratic Governance in Bolivia. The Experience of the Peruvian Natinal Accord - September, 2006.- A new CoM publication, in cooperation with International IDEA, reports on a mission of Peruvian leaders to Bolivia. The mission, led by CoM Member and former President Valentin Paniagua (?2006), aimed to share Peru?s National Accord experience with Bolivian leaders engaged in preparations for a National Assembly to rewrite the country?s Constitution. June 19, 2006 - The Roots of Terrorism is the first in a three volume series entitled Democracy and Terrorism . It explores the psychological, political, religious, economic and cultural factors that can contribute to the rise of terrorist movements. The series explores how to reconcile the need to fight terrorism with our desire to protect and enhance democratic values. The volumes are an outgrowth of the International Summit on Democracy, Terrorism and Security organized by the Club de Madrid in March 2005.

Club of Madrid report "Securing Peace and Democracy in the Balkans" - June, 17th, 2004.- Exactly five years after the NATO bombing of Belgrade, the Club of Madrid brought together defence ministers; foreign affairs officials; and security, democracy and regional experts from Serbia-Montenegro (S-M) and its Southeastern European neighbours for a seminar on security and democracy reform in the Balkans. The discussions demonstrated how far the region has come on the path to peace, security, democratic reform and integration. At the same time, participants highlighted how important the large remaining task of Serbia?s full democratic reform and international integration is to peace and democracy in the region.


UNDP report ?Democracy in Latin America: Towards a Citizens' Democracy? .- Written by and for Latin Americans, Democracy in Latin America is the most significant initiative of UNDP in the region in many years. Its principal objective is to encourage needed debate, to provide impartial data and an analytical framework for this continent-wide dialogue.

IMF and Democracy: Some Reflections from the II General Assembly of the Club of Madrid  - The Club of Madrid held its second General Assembly on the 1st and 2nd of November 2003. Besides Fernando Henrique Cardoso, current President of the Club of Madrid and William J. Clinton, its Honorary Co-Chairman, 24 of its members, former Heads of State and Government, participated in the meeting, together with representatives from its founding foundations and a selected group of guests, which, among others, included: the Secretary General of the Arab League, Amre Moussa, the Director of the IMF Foreign Relations Department, Thomas Dawson, the Director of the Independent Evaluation Office of the International Monetary Fund, Montek S. Ahluwalia and John Williamson, Senior Fellow of the Institute for International Economics (USA).
