Jackie Chan
From:
Hudson
Soft
Year:
1990
Format:
PC-Engine
The full title is 'Jackie Chan's
Action Kung Fu'. An enjoyable platform romp more staring
Jackie Chan than based on him, his life or any of his films (although the ending features
supposed out-takes from the game which is a nice touch). Jackie must transverse many
hostile locations in order to rescue his (fictional) sister from an evil magician. He has
many special attacks at his disposal, which makes up for his lack of normal attacks, such
as a 'Street Fighter' style fire ball and spinning kicks. Additional attacks can be
collected or recharged. The main sprite bears some resemblance to the Hong Kong superstar
and the music is quite catchy. Worth a look.

Title:
Jackie
Chan's Action Kung Fu
From:
Hudson Soft
Year:

Comments:
An 8-bit conversion
of the PC-Engine game. This time the main sprite looks more like Mario than Jackie and
some of the levels have been re-designed but the music is still there and it is just as
fun, maybe more so, than it's 16-bit counterpart.

Title:
Jackie
Chan's Stunt Masters
From:
Radical Entertainment
Year:
2000
Comments:
Early
reports suggested this would be a puzzle game with Jackie searching
for pieces of his lost
film. Thankfully it became a 3D roaming fighting game. Jackie supplies his voice
and also did the motion capture work. Great fun if a
bit difficult, and manages to capture the energy of Jackie and his movies well. Well worth a try for Jackie Chan fans!

Title:
Jackie
Chan In Fire Fists
From:
Kaneko
Year:
1995
Comments:
A one-on-one fighting game with nine characters including three different
Jackies. It uses digitized sprites like the '
Mortal
Kombat
' series which was very popular at the time. Very very rare.
