VOLUNTEERING FOR OLYMPIC BIDS

Historically, The Olympic Games has relied on several thousands of volunteers to operate successfully. Volunteers help keep costs down, allow for better service to visitors and provide a rewarding experience for those who do the volunteering. The trend indicates a greater need for volunteers in the future.

Olympic Bids also require many volunteers. Volunteers can show the IOC that there is local support for the project and proves that if awarded the Games, this support will continue. Often during a bid campaign, the volunteers become a numbers game where each city tries to account for more volunteers than the other cities to show greater support. Additionally, volunteers help spread the bid committees' messages and increase local public support.

Bid committees are always recruiting new volunteers, to help with the campaign or to promise to help should they be awarded the Games. Below are some links to Websites where you can offer to volunteer for your chosen campaign.
