Once upon a time, WCW wrestlers thought Chavo Guerrero Jr. was just a little crazy. The third-generation wrestler's peers underestimated him. One of the most aggressive cruiserweights in WCW, Chavo mixes classic training and a mean streak to achieve success in the ring.
Career History
Started training with the Guerrero family at a young age... Worked in Japan and Mexico... Joined WCW in May 1996... Studied under -- and eventually defeated -- brother Eddy... Became a catalogue salesman in 1999, at the urging of The Powers That Be... Joined the Misfits In Action, and took the name Lt. Loco... Defeated Daffney for the cruiserweight title, June 6, 2000... Lost the title to Lance Storm, July 31, 2000... Grew frustrated with the MIA after WCW Mayhem 2000 and left the group... Regained cruiserweight title from Mike Sanders, Dec., 6, 2000 -- thanks to his aggressive new attitude.
Wrestling Style
Representing a legacy of great wrestlers, Chavo has borrowed many moves from Guerreros past (including his Tornado DDT), but has added a new level of intensity... A talented aerialist, Chavo can fly, yet he chooses to pick his shots and force opponents to face him on the mat.
Did You Know?
One of the only third-generation wrestlers working today... First WCW match was against Steven Regal... Carried a wooden hobby horse to the ring (named Pepe) for several months... Worked in both Mexico and Japan before coming to WCW.
