Skolastika ( Skolasticizmi ) eshte nje metode e filozofise mesjetare, e cila mbizoteronte mesimdhenien e universiteteve mesjetare ne Evrope ne periudhen mes viteve 1100 - 1700, si dhe nje program i zbatimit te kesaj metode ne artikulimin dhe mbrojtjen e dogmes ne nje menyre gjithnje e me pluraliste. Skolastika nuk eshte aq shume nje filozofi ose nje teologji aq sa eshte nje metode e te mesuarit. Mendimi skolastik njihet gjithashtu per analizen rigoroze konceptuale dhe per terheqjen e kujdesshme te dallimeve. Per shkak te theksit te saj ne metoden rigoroze dialektike, skolastika u aplikua perfundimisht ne shume fusha te tjera te studimit. [2]

Disa nga figurat kryesore te skolastikes jane Anselmi i Kanterberit , Peter Abelard , Albertus Magnus , Duns Scotus , William Ockham , Bonaventura , Tomas Akuini , Aleksandri i Hales, etj. [3]

Ekuivalenti i skolasticizmit ne boten islame eshte ilm-al-kalami apo shkenca e diskursit [4] e njohur ndryshe si "teologjia skolastike islamike". [5]
