Gas maska
eshte nje maske qe perdoret per te mbrojtur veshesin nga thithja e ndotesve te ajrit dhe gazrave toksike. Maska formon nje mbulese te mbyllur mbi hunde dhe goje, por gjithashtu mund te mbuloje syte dhe indet e tjera te ndjeshme (te buta) te fytyres. Shumica e maskave te gazit jane respiratore, megjithese fjala

shpesh perdoret per t'iu referuar pajisjeve ushtarake (p.sh. maske mbrojtese ne terren). Maska e gazit mbron vetem perdoruesin nga tretja, thithja dhe kontakti permes syve (shume agjente ndikojne permes kontaktit me sy). Filtrat me te kombinuar te maskave te gazit do te zgjasin rreth 8 ore ne nje situate kimike biologjike berthamore (NBC). Filtrat specifike kimike mund te zgjasin deri ne 20 ore ne nje situate NBC.
Materialet toksike te ajrit mund te jene te gazta (per shembull, gazi i mustardes dhe
gazi i klorit
) ose grimcave (sic jane agjentet biologjike ). Shume gas maska perfshijne mbrojtjen nga te dy llojet. Gas maska perdoret per tu mbrojtur kunder tymrave te saldimit, kunder asbestit ose grimcave te tjera te rrezikshme, dhe ne industrine kimike kur merren me materiale te rrezikshme, si ne berjen e riparimeve te pajisjeve qe rrjedhin ose pastrohen pas derdhjeve; punetoret zakonisht pajisen me gas maska si nje mase paraprake kunder rrjedhjeve.
Gjate demonstratave dhe protestave ku gazi lotsjelles ose gazi CS perdoret nga policia gjate trazirave, gas maska zakonisht perdoret si nga policia ashtu edhe nga demonstruesit. Pervec sherbimit te qellimeve te tyre funksionale, gas maskat perdoren gjithashtu si emblema ne muziken industriale.
