Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed (13 maj 1905 - 11 shkurt 1977) ishte nje avokat dhe politikan indian qe sherbeu si presidenti i peste i Indise nga viti 1974 deri ne 1977. ^[1]

Fahrudin Ali Ahmed ishte i lindur ne Delhi , studioi ne Delhi dhe Kembrixh dhe u thirr ne bar nga Inner Temple, Londer ne 1928. Pas kthimit ne Indi, ai ushtroi profesionin e avokatit ne Lahore dhe me pas ne Guwahati . Duke filluar nje lidhje te gjate me Kongresin Kombetar Indian ne vitet 1930, Ahmed ishte minister i financave i Assam ne ministrine Gopinath Bordoloi ne 1939. Ai u be Avokati i Pergjithshem i Assam ne vitin 1946 dhe ishte serish minister i financave nga viti 1957 deri ne 1966 nen Bimala Prasad Chaliha . Ai u be minister i kabinetit kombetar nga kryeministrja Indira Gandhi ne 1966 dhe ishte ne krye te ministrive te ndryshme duke perfshire Energjine, Ujitjen, Industrite dhe Bujqesine . Ai u zgjodh president i Indise mbi Tridib Chaudhuri ne 1974. ^[2]

Si president, Ahmed vendosi Urgjencen ne gusht 1975 dhe dha pelqimin e tij per urdheresat dhe amendamentet e shumta kushtetuese qe kufizuan ashper lirite civile dhe lejuan Indira Gandhin te sundonte me dekret . Ai e mbeshteti Urgjencen ne fjalimet publike. I lampuar ne nje karikature ikone nga Abu Abrahami, reputacioni i Ahmedit u demtua nga mbeshtetja e tij per Urgjencen. Ai eshte pershkruar si president i pulles se gomes. ^[3]

Ahmedi vdiq ne shkurt 1977 nga nje atak ne zemer. Atij iu dha nje funeral shteteror dhe u varros ne nje xhami prane Shtepise se Parlamentit ne Nju Delhi. Ahmedi, i cili ishte muslimani i dyte qe u be president i Indise, ishte gjithashtu presidenti i dyte qe vdiq ne detyre. Ahmedi u pasua nga BD Jatti si president ne detyre dhe nga Neelam Sanjiva Reddy si presidenti i gjashte i Indise ne 1977. ^[4]
