Windsor Davies

actor
. He was best known for his roles as Battery Sergeant Major Williams in the
sitcom
It Ain't Half Hot Mum
(1974–81). He was also known for his roles in
Never the Twain
,
Doctor Who
and the
Carry On
movies
. He retired from acting in 2004.
Davies was born in
Canning Town
,
East London
. He moved to
Wales
in 1939. He was married to Eluned Davies. She died in September 2018. They had five children.
