Sir William Arthur Lewis (January 23, 1915 ? June 15, 1991) was a Saint Lucian economist . He was the James Madison Professor of Political Economy at Princeton University . ^[2] Lewis was known for his works about economic development . In 1979, he won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences .
