Shlomo Lahat
(9 September 1927 – 1 October 2014) was an
Israeli
general and politician. He served as
Mayor
of
Tel Aviv
from 1974 until 1993. He was a member of
Likud
.
Lahat was born in
Berlin
,
Germany
. He and his family moved to Israel in 1933 during the
Nazi
uprising. During his final years, Lahat had
Alzheimer's disease
.
Lahat died from a
lung
infection on 1 October 2014 in Tel Aviv. He was 86.
