Mohamed Nasheed GCSK (?????????? ??????; born 17 May 1967) is a Maldivian politician. He has been Speaker of the People's Majlis since May 2019. He was the fourth President of the Maldives from 2008 to 2012. He is the first democratically elected president of the Maldives . [1] He is also one of the founders of the Maldivian Democratic Party . [2]

On 6 May 2021, an assassination attempt was made against Nasheed near his home while he was getting into his car. [3] He was seriously injured when his car exploded. [4]
