The Mars Bar or Mars is a chocolate bar made by Mars, Incorporated . It is made of chocolate - malt nougat topped with a layer of caramel and covered with milk chocolate .

It was first manufactured in 1932 in England , ^[1] and was advertised to the trade as being made with Cadbury's chocolate couverture . ^[2] Mars is also sold in the United States , under the "Milky Way" name.
