checks the mansion first. When Luigi realizes that Mario has been long absent, he heads off to the Mansion in search of him. In contrast to the mansion shown on his flyer, Luigi notices that it is old, haunted, and inhabited by multiple
ghosts
. Around the start of his adventure, Luigi meets Professor E. Gadd, who gives him the Poltergust 3000, a
vacuum cleaner
that can capture ghosts.
