Sir John Huxtable Elliott FBA (23 June 1930 ? 10 March 2022) was an English historian and Hispanist . He was Regius Professor Emeritus at the University of Oxford and Honorary Fellow of Oriel College, Oxford , and Trinity College, Cambridge . ^[1] He was born in Reading , Berkshire .

Elliott was hospitalized on 5 March 2022 for pneumonia and kidney failure in Oxford , Oxfordshire . He died five days later on 10 March at the age of 91. ^[2]
