Haram ( Arabic : ???? , romanized:  ħar?m ), is an Arabic word that literally means forbidden, [1] [2] it may be used to refer to sacred knowledge which is hidden from the people, or the word's more common use which is for a evil and sinful action that is forbidden to be done. In Islamic law , haram is used to refer to any action that is forbidden in the Quran and is one of the five Islamic commandments. [3] [4]
