Epping Forest
is a forest on the border of
Greater London
, and Essex. It is very long, but very narrow. It stretches over 18 kilometres (11 mi), but at no point it is more than 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) wide. The earliest
archeological
finds date from the
Mesolithic
period
. There is a
Roman
villa rustica
in the forest.
