Box Car Racer was an American Alternative rock / Post-hardcore band from San Diego , California that were active from 2001 to 2003. Box Car Racer was a side-project for Blink-182 members Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker and lead guitarist of Hazen Street , David Kennedy and touring bassist Anthony Celestino . When they were active they were signed to the record label MCA Records .
