member of parliament

) is the
representative
in
parliament
of the people who live in their
electoral district
. The
terms
congressman/congresswoman
or
deputy
are terms that mean the same thing used in other places or systems. Members of parliament usually make
parliamentary groups
(sometimes called
caucuses
) with members of the same
political party
. In all
states
, the
prime minister
and the
government ministers
who make up the
cabinet
, are often members of parliament.
