KCRA
in
Sacramento, California
.

Walker first worked at
WESH-TV
in
Orlando, Florida
. He then moved to Sacramento in the 1970s with
KOVR
and
KCRA
. In 1980, Walker and co-anchor (and wife)
Lois Hart
left Sacramento to join
CNN
. They co-anchored CNN's first news
broadcast
on June 1, 1980.

In 1989, he joined NBC's cable news channel
Consumer News and Business Channel
and anchored its first news program.

In 1990, Walker and Hart decided to return to Sacramento, where they anchored evening news broadcasts until 2008. In November 2008 he retired from KCRA.
