David Edward Walker (born on May 21, 1941 in Edgewater, New Jersey ) is an award -winning former television news anchor at KCRA in Sacramento, California . [1] Walker first worked at WESH-TV in Orlando, Florida . He then moved to Sacramento in the 1970s with KOVR and KCRA . In 1980, Walker and co-anchor (and wife) Lois Hart left Sacramento to join CNN . They co-anchored CNN's first news broadcast on June 1, 1980. [2]

In 1989, he joined NBC's cable news channel Consumer News and Business Channel and anchored its first news program. [3] In 1990, Walker and Hart decided to return to Sacramento, where they anchored evening news broadcasts until 2008. In November 2008 he retired from KCRA. [1]
