To prepare for the departure of BBC Children’s head of content Cheryl Taylor? next month , the pubcaster is changing up? Sarah Muller ‘s (pictured) role.

Muller was previously head of acquisitions and animation, and has now been appointed head of commissioning and acquisitions for seven to 12s. The BBC is looking to fill a head of commissioning and acquisitions for preschoolers (zero to six) position internally. Muller re-joined BBC in 2019 —she spent a decade at the pubcaster earlier in her career before moving on to head up children’s programming at Milkshake! and Sony Pictures Television Network.

Patricia Hidalgo, BBC director of children’s and education , announced the shuffle earlier this week in an internal email. Muller will report directly to Hidalgo, and is responsible for working with both the in-house production teams and independent producers to source content for the seven to 12 audience. She will start this new role in March after Taylor leaves her post.

BBC Children’s has seen several execs depart recently, in addition to Taylor. Sarah Legg-Barratt, a producer on the animation and acquisition team, announced her exit ?at the end of last year. She has since set up her own kids content consulting company called? Neon Soul Media .
