- is "so what" a reason for deleting? The NFL scheduled games on Christmas. Big deal. Nothing indicates that playing football on Christmas is so culturally significant that it needs its own article.

It is notable & culturally significant. It explains why in the article. Professional sporting events was a cultural no-no when they ran the first one in 1971 & it was so controversial that the NFL refrained from it until 1989. And the fact that so few have been played in 80 years is of cultural significance. Face it, the NFL is a part of American Culture.--
