We are approaching the end of the 2024 WikiCup's second round, with a little over two weeks remaining. Currently, contestants must score at least 105 points to progress to the third round.
Our current top scorers are as follows:
Competitors may submit work for the second round until the end of 28 April, and the third round starts 1 May. Remember that only competitors with the top 32 scores will make it through to the third round. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on
Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews
. Please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs. As a reminder, competitors are strictly prohibited from
gaming Wikipedia policies or processes
to receive more points.
If you would like to learn more about rules and scoring for the 2024 WikiCup, please read

- Merv Mat
, I'm not an expert in this kind of article, but I'm worried it may get nominated for
WP:AfD
. It relies very heavily on
primary sources
and may not demonstrate lasting notability beyond
one event
. If you can find any secondary reports or scholarship about the split, that would strengthen the article quite a bit.

, absolutely! I am currently working with the author of
Thistle tortoise beetle
to do the same process. Take a look at the talk page there; I would have a lot of similar comments for your article. See if some of those critiques are applicable and do your best to implement them, and then nominate it for GAN! I will probably be able to start reviewing it in detail sometime next week. Also be sure to carefully read the article and copyedit it for any spelling and grammar mistakes. Glad to have you working so thoroughly on this topic!

Hi,
Mandazi
is commonly referred to as
Mahamri
[1]
. How would I create a redirect for the
Mandazi
page accordingly?
Any ideas for how to include this fact in the article and whether I can use
this
as a reference that Mahamri is often called Mandazi (since it says Mahamri or Mandazi).
Also, I think @
Dr. Trafalgar D Water Law
in the
post above
meant
MTV Splitsvilla (season 15)
. He seems to be pretty active on that page.
Thanks.

Hello!
I'm just getting started as an editor. Dipping toe in, I tried to "copy edit" pages suggested by wiki. These pages had been flagged with issues larger than problems with copy. This one for example is highly partisan. Can you suggest a better approach to get started? --

, thank you for your contributions so far! Yes, many pages that need copyediting also have other issues. I recommend looking at
The Wikipedia Adventure
, which is kind of a game-ified introduction to wikipedia. It will give you a lot of the skills you need to figure out those articles that are more complex, and even add information to things you are passionate about. I'm also available as a resource if you have more specific questions in the future and can help you with problems you run into. Very Respectfully,

The second round of the 2024 WikiCup ended on 28 April. This round was particularly competitive: each of the 32 contestants who advanced to Round 3 scored at least 141 points. This is the highest number of points required to advance to Round 3 since 2014.
The following scorers in Round 2 all scored more than 500 points:
- Sammi Brie
(
submissions
) with 707 points, mostly from 45
good article nomination
reviews and 12
good articless
about radio and television;
- Generalissima
(
submissions
) with 600 points, mostly from 12 good articles and 12
did you know
nominations about coinage and history;
- SounderBruce
(
submissions
) with 552 points, mostly from a
featured article
about the
2020 Seattle Sounders FC season
, three
featured lists
, and two good articles;
- BennyOnTheLoose
(
submissions
) with 548 points, mostly from a featured article about the snooker player
John Pulman
, two featured lists, and one good article;
- voorts
(
submissions
) with 530 points, mostly from two featured articles (
Well he would, wouldn't he?
and
Cora Agnes Benneson
) and three good articles.
The full scores for Round 2 can be seen
here
. So far this year, competitors have gotten 18 featured articles, 22 featured lists, and 186 good articles, 76
in the news
credits and at least 200
did you know
credits. They have conducted 165 featured article reviews, as well as 399 good article reviews and peer reviews, and have added 21 articles to
featured topics
and
good topics
.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed during Round 3, which starts on 1 May at 00:00 (UTC). Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination?whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else?will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on

I want to create an article about Brawl Stars, a game by Supercell. Can you read this article and tell me how I did?
Brawl Stars is a free-to-play game by Supercell. Brawl Stars consists of many characters to choose from, each having their own abilities. Battle of in Showdown, or maybe try out the new Ranked mode. No matter what player you are, you are sure to have fun. Want a friend to join with you in the battle? With the friend code, you can! Just go to friends, tell them your code, and boom! If Showdown is too boring, than try the other game modes. Supercell is updating the game consistently, so you will always have something new to do. This game may be free-to-play, but it is also pay-to-win. Have some birthday money that you just want to spend? With the shop, there are always new skins, skins, and skins to buy! Let's dive into the Ranked game mode. In Ranked, you will be paired up with people of your similar skill level (like showdown, but different), and the games are chosen randomly. Every time the new season starts, there are modifiers that will change how you play. With all this excitement, what will be next! Let's talk about Gem Grab, a 3v3 match all about grabbing the most gems. When you die, you lose your gems. With this fast-paced game mode, you will be sure to tier up fast. Brawl Ball, the soccer-based game mode about scoring goals. Join in another 3v3 of fun! Thank you for reading this article. I will update this for some of the best characters. --

AryKun
and
Fritzmann2002
, advanced to the third round.
- The March edition of our
monthly rolling contest
was won by
simongraham
, who amassed 118 points from 21 articles on various species of jumping spider; in second place was
Quetzal1964
with 109 points from 53 articles on marine ray-finned fish.
- Quetzal1964 and simongraham were also the top two in the April edition, although Quetzal was ahead this time, with 68 points to simongraham's 48. In the annual leaderboard, Quetzal and simongraham are in first and second place respectively, with 291 and 246 points; in third place is

Hello!
I am currently working on a new Wikipedia article about Michelle Valberg, a prominent Canadian wildlife and nature photographer. Given your experience and expertise, I would greatly appreciate your review and feedback on this draft to ensure its accuracy, neutrality, and compliance with Wikipedia's guidelines.
The article covers various aspects of Michelle Valberg's career, her contributions to photography, and her philanthropic efforts, particularly through Project North. I aim to create a well-rounded and informative article that reflects her significant impact on both photography and community support in the Arctic regions.

- Bojamon
, I'm not particularly well-versed in
BLP
articles, but after giving it a quick look it seems to be in pretty good shape. Here are just a few things I noticed:
- There are a lot of subsections in the Career part; can you merge any of them? You can probably just have each of the topics be its own paragraph within the Career section, without needing any of the subheadings.
- Parts of the personal life section should not be included, like where she spends her time
- There is a lot of commentary on Valberg's motivations or commitments. These should be trimmed down and the article should focus solely on what she has done, or what recognition she has received
- Other than that, let me know when you submit the draft for review and I can assist with anything the reviewer might point out that I missed.

Hello,
I would like to ask about adding citations and references. How to add it? I have added a reference on
MTV Splitsvilla (season 15)
article Ideal Matches section and that looks odd <a smiling face with a drop of sweat, conveying slight embarrassment>. Kindly help me learn and fix it.
love love.

- Dr. Trafalgar D Water Law
, you added a
bare URL
which is why it looks strange. Try reading
Help:Referencing for beginners
to learn how to use the referencing templates like {{cite web}} which will give the proper format.

Hello Fritzmann2002?! I was curious how long (generally) does it take for my edits to be verified by Wikipedia and be approved? Thank you. --

all pending edits on articles that have edit protection are approved by volunteers, so the time it takes can vary. In your case, another editor reviewed your edits within about half an hour, but they were reverted for a few reasons. The biggest one is that the
lead
of an article is supposed to be a short summary of its contents; in-depth details and commentary don't belong there. Those should go in the body of the article, where the bulk of the content is. If you have more questions about editing, feel free to let me know!

Hello. My edit for Bride of Christ keeps getting removed. Could you please help me understand why? I’ve included citations. Thank you!
The New Jerusalem
[
edit

As discovered in
Revelation 21:9-11
, the only clear identification of the Bride of Christ in the New Testament refer to the New Jerusalem in the Book of Revelation. This would agree with the many Old Testament images depicting Yahweh God as being wed to biblical Israel.
With reference to the identification of the Bride of Christ as the Church, the following comments may be made:
It should be noted that the purpose of
Ephesians 5
is to describe the unity Christ has with “his body”, which is compared to the unity between a husband and wife. The point is not that the church is the bride, but that the church is united with Christ.
In
Romans 7:4
, the Greek word translated by the KJV as “
married
” is actually “to become” or “to belong to” and is used nowhere else in scripture to mean “married”.
Referring to 2 Corinthians 11:2-4, it is seldom noticed that
2 Corinthians 11:1
states clearly that Paul considers these verses to be an act of “
foolishness
”. That is, he is being imaginative in order to make a point about the church’s dedication to God. He may not be saying that the church is literally the Bride; he is certainly demonstrating the folly of a church that is unfaithful to her Lord.
The only clear designation of the identity of the Bride of Christ in the Bible is found in
Revelation 21:9-11
, where she is ident --

Hello Fritzmann 2002 - I can not figure out how to change the title of the wiki page:
https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=8619727aeaa3db8aJmltdHM9MTcxNjQyMjQwMCZpZ3VpZD0wZWQ3YjA2Mi02MjMyLTYxOTEtM2FjOC1hM2VmNjNmNTYwYTgmaW5zaWQ9NTIzMg&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=3&fclid=0ed7b062-6232-6191-3ac8-a3ef63f560a8&psq=wikipedia+flexcon&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly9lbi53aWtpcGVkaWEub3JnL3dpa2kvRkxFWGNvbg&ntb=1
I need to change it from FLEXcon to Flexcon. The instructions I find online do not seem to match up with what I see while editing. Thanks!

Hello. I got blocked for not citing sources, butI thought I did include a reliable source in my last link in the post. Could you please tell why
https://comeandreason.com/new-jerusalem-bride-of-christ/
New Jerusalem
does not qualify? I also cited interlinear bible sites to explain the meanings of relevant Greek words. Thank you.

Hello, Still newbie! I couldn't find a link you previously sent me for communications. I ran into some bugs with the gamified training you had suggested to me but was able to complete some of it. Also some of the test edits were in source only viewing formats. I'll need to review wiki code.
I haven't been able to enter the "talk" for an article. I see here that The Flintsones television program is described as an "animated television series." I considered substitute the word "cartoons" as this is both accurate and widely understood.

- Please see
Talk:MTV_Splitsvilla_season_15#MOS_issues
where I've detailed much of the issues as they've been ignored by Dr. Trafalgar D Water Law. Also, when you HAT a discussion on your talk page saying "Discussion continues on the article talk page" it's generally good to actually get a discussion going on the article talk page.
