Image:Ely100.jpg
is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under
fair use
but there is no
explanation or rationale
as to why its use in
this
Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the
boilerplate fair use template
, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with
fair use
.
Please go to
the image description page
and edit it to include a
fair use rationale
. Using one of the templates at
Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline
is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on
criteria for speedy deletion
. If you have any questions please ask them at the
Media copyright questions page
. Thank you.

Although he was billed as being 6' 5" when he played Tarzan on TV, according to both
Internet Movie Data Base
and
Tarzan of the Movies
by Gabe Essoe (1968), Ron Ely stands 6' 4".

- ???OK now, look: back when they needed to know how many guys my age they might be able to pour onto some guys called the National Liberation Front, some other guys determined to their satisfaction that I stood 5'9¾". Virtually everyone who asked for my height listened, and said Yeah, five-ten. Now, on toppa that, as you age you reach a maximum height, bcz your skeleton stops growing: growing is expensive and our genes learned a long time ago a formula we'll never quite work out for how tall an average guy oughta get, "in the state of nature" as it then existed, where the terrain and climate would support your walking as far as it took to satisfy you that it wasn't worth braving another f'g mountain range in hope of giving the next generation a bit better combination of enviromental parameters. But 'chya age, an' yer body gets less efficient, an' that padding at the bottom of yer heels gets weaker and thinner an' yermuscles 'n' joints get weak so ya slouch more and "stand tall" less, an' ya realize yer a little ol' man, maybe a half inch maybe even an inch"n'a half shorter than you were a decade or two earlier. Get over yerself, get over the hope of being eternal youth, an' leave yer "elders and betters" alone! 'Kay?

I don't know what years but Ron Ely was also a game show host, I think that it was "Name that Time".
