This article does not say anything about quantum dot lasers in general. It talks about a specific laser, and reads like a corporate press release, likely because of its suspicious similarity to the press release cited as the only source for the article. Quantum dot lasers are a relatively new technology, but Fujitsu/University of Tokyo is not the only developer. Right now, the article is basically spam.
