This article needs a serious overhaul, it lacks sources, parts even read like a tourist pamphlet.

This article should really be under O Cathain as O'Cahan is just one of many anglicisations, as even the first sentence of this article makes clear.

- O Cathain
exits as an article, but it seems to cover several families of the same name. I suppose all of them could Anglicise their names today as O'Cahan. Perhaps this article could be merged into that one. I don't know anything about the different families though.--

- Merge

O Cathain
article.

see
O MAOLAIN
(Woulfe doesn't record the spelling 'Mullin' as an anglicized form). Mullin can also be an English name; 'Mullen' sometimes a shortened form of a Dutch name, whereas 'Mullan' is exclusively Irish/relating to this sept. *By 'more common spelling' I meant that the spelling is more commonly derived
from the sept
, not that more people nowadays have the surname.
It's pretty trivial so I won't bother to contest your rash revert, but just thought I'd offer you some 'evidence'...

- Unfortunately, that 100 year old work does not back up your claim that "Mullan" is the correct name of this cadet branch. Sorry.
