painter. He was awarded the honorary title of
People's Artist of the USSR

Mikayil Huseyn oglu Abdullayev was born 19 December 1921 in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR, Soviet Union. Abdullayev was an alumnus of the A. Azimzadeh Azerbaijan Painting School (1939) and the
Surikov Moscow Art Institute
(1949) (now Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture).

An Old Afghan

among others. Among portraits of Azerbaijani people, there are those of
