She is also an extremely talented fashion designer. Marinette is deeply in love with Adrien Agreste, to whom she can barely speak to out of nervousness. She later develops romantic attraction for Luka Couffaine, but they break up and decide to remain friends. When she loses the Miraculous to Monarch, she tries to stop loving Adrien so she won't get distracted in defeating Monarch, but sees Cat Noir in a new light. She eventually kisses Cat Noir as herself but nearly gets akumatized, so she gets over her crush and later begins a romantic relationship with Adrien.

Ladybug
". As Ladybug, she becomes more confident and serious. Her weapon is a yo-yo and her special power is "Lucky Charm", which allows her to create an object to help solve a specific problem, defeating or helping to defeat an akumatized villain. Once the problem has been solved, she is able to use her second power, "Miraculous Ladybug", to restore things to the way they were and repair all damage. Her yo-yo is also capable of capturing and purifying akumas, storing items and acts as a phone and communicator for her to use. When she becomes the Guardian, Ladybug has the ability to give other characters Miraculouses through her yo-yo. [8]
[2]
[9]
and

[10]
) was a famous fashion designer, and Adrien's strict, overprotective, and emotionally abusive father. He served as the
main antagonist
of the first five seasons, his motives being to obtain Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculouses so he can use their combined power to restore his comatose wife Emilie. He used the Butterfly Miraculous to transform into the supervillain "
Hawk Moth
", his weapon is a cane and his special power is Akumatization, using Akumas, corrupted butterflies drawn to
negative emotions
, he could transform his victims into supervillains with special powers. In the fourth season, he became "

necrosis
, Gabriel establishes a partnership with Tomoe Tsurugi to set up the Alliance System, where he remolded the Miraculous jewels into his personal Alliance Rings, smart rings that allow him to channel a Miraculous' power to a villain using the Alliance System. Monarch temporarily seized the Ladybug and the Cat Miraculous, but their Kwamis, Tikki, and Plagg, managed to stall him long enough for Marinette to take them back. When defeated, after learning Ladybug's identity, losing the Butterfly Miraculous, and finally realizing that he has ruined his son's life, he redeemed himself, as he briefly seized the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous from her, and decided to respect his wife's wishes and sacrificed his own life to death for Nathalie's illness while recreating the universe, allowing Marinette to recover all of the Miraculouses, restore them to their previous forms, and permanently give them to her allies, ensuring that a villain won't steal them all again. However, Marinette was unable to find the Butterfly Miraculous as unbeknownst to her, Cerise somehow managed to get her hands on it as she plans to become the new Hawk Moth.
- In
Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie
, Hawk Moth's plans are still intact. Unlike the TV series version, this one surrendered upon learning that Adrien is Cat Noir. After surrendering the Butterfly Miraculous to Ladybug and Cat Noir, Gabriel turned himself in for his crimes as Hawk Moth.

She aspires to be a journalist and is in charge of the school blog. She is a big fan of superheroes, in particular, Ladybug; she even operates a
fansite

[15]
Since then, Alya continues to support Marinette in her new role as Guardian of the Miraculous. She usually uses the Fox Miraculous to transform into
"Rena Rouge"
(
"Red Fox"
), armed with a flute that doubles as a staff which allows her to create illusions through her "Mirage" ability.
[16]
Although her identity is eventually revealed, Alya is called upon for support as Rena Rouge once before being eventually allowed to keep her Miraculous, assuming a blue-colored variant of her hero form called
"Rena Furtive"
(
"Secret Fox"

Although his identity is revealed to Hawk Moth, he is called upon for support as Carapace and also learns of Rena Furtive, Alya's second identity. He mistakenly reveals it publicly to the rest of the heroes and Shadow Moth, leaving Alya to renounce the Fox Miraculous. - Chloe Bourgeois / Queen Bee
(voiced by Selah Victor in the English dub and Marie Chevalot in the French version) is a student in Miss Bustier's class. She often abuses her father's status as mayor to do whatever she wants like tormenting Marinette, despite being a fan of her alter-ego, and bossing around her friend Sabrina Raincomprix while claiming her childhood best friend Adrien Agreste as her boyfriend. Chloe either instigates someone getting Akumatized or gets Akumatized herself, her initial form being
"AntiBug"
. Chloe accidentally acquired the
Bee
Miraculous which transforms her into
"Queen Bee"
. Despite publicly revealing her secret identity, Ladybug would occasionally lend her the Miraculous, but is later forced to suspend her from heroics when her public identity becomes too much of a liability. After growing paranoid and resentful of Ladybug for not giving her the Miraculous as she wished, Chloe betrays the heroes to Hawk Moth and exposes other temporary heroes to him, resulting in her being permanently relieved of duty. Afterwards, Chloe descends into villainy, and later allies herself with Lila Rossi out of mutual hatred for both Ladybug and Marinette. Chloe's actions gradually make her hated by most of Paris and eventually cost her both Adrien and Sabrina as friends. When her father steps down as mayor, Chloe becomes Gabriel's
puppet ruler
through Lila's manipulation by staging a Coup d'etat. She uses her power as acting mayor to criminalize superpowered beings, with Ladybug and Cat Noir branded outlaws while forced to allow it, But Chloe later hypocritically accepts Monarch's offer to become secretly akumatized as
"Queen Mayor
" to enforce her rule via channeling multiple Miraculous powers through her robots, culminating in her trapping Ladybug and Cat Noir while attempting to publicly expose their identities. But the heroes are able to master their powers to stay transformed and rally the citizens of Paris to revolt against her. Ultimately, Chloe is de-akumatized, stripped of her position and all her power, abandoned (and betrayed) by her allies, and is exiled to live with her mother in New York as punishment by her father.

To this end, having secretly deduced Hawk Moth's identity, Lila eventually partners with Gabriel to keep tabs on Adrien as a means to akumatize those she manipulates, and later joins forces with Chloe as well. Gabriel also used Lila as a scanned model alongside Adrien to create the virtual assistants in his Alliance Rings. But when Gabriel terminates their agreement, Lila decides to acquire blackmail on Gabriel in retaliation before being forced to transfer to another school under the alias "Cerise Bianca" after being exposed as a fraud in College Francoise Dupont. She later manipulates Chloe into becoming acting mayor of Paris when her father steps down and accepts Monarch's offer to run the city her way, only to abandon her the moment she has Tomoe's tablet with access to the Alliance System. (voiced by
Colleen O'Shaughnessey
in the English dub,
[74]
and Jeanne Chartier in the French version) is the wife of Gabriel Agreste and the mother of Adrien, along with being Amelie Graham de Vanily's twin sister. As revealed in "Representation", Emilie and her sister, Amelie, were born into a British aristocratic and noble family who wanted their daughters to maintain their legacy. She had a wild and curious nature growing up and hated the nobility life. Her parents sent her to Paris, where she soon met and fell in love with Gabriel, eventually giving up everything to be with him. While publicly declared deceased, Emilie is in a comatose state and kept in a glass coffin located in a repository in the Agreste's basement.
[75]
She is also a former actress. She aided Gabriel in finding the Miraculous and received the Peacock Miraculous from him, the use of the damaged Miraculous being the direct cause of her current condition. In the final episode of that season, after seeing her final video and learning of her wish to not be brought back courtesy of Marinette, Gabriel opts to respect her wish and sacrifices himself to save Nathalie's life, leaving Adrien orphaned in both Nathalie and Amelie's care.
- Andre Bourgeois
(voiced by Joe Ochman in the English dub) is Audrey's ex-husband, Chloe's father, Zoe's ex-stepfather, and the mayor of Paris for the first five seasons. He initially started off as a film director, but switched careers to politics like his father to better provide for Audrey. After she left the family and moved to New York, he tried to compensate for her absence by spoiling Chloe immensely, playing a big part in turning her into the brat that she is currently. Throughout most of the series, Andre acts as a doormat towards Chloe, with her often using her influence as the Mayor's daughter to get her her own way, punish others no matter how unreasonable the situation, and keep herself out of trouble. When Audrey returns to Paris, Andre finds himself catering to her whims as well, especially in instances where the two gang up on him to get what they want, though he and Audrey do eventually agree to try and work on their marriage. When Audrey's other daughter Zoe comes to live with them in the fourth season, Andre bonds with her over a shared love of the film arts. Zoe's kind influence eventually causes Andre to question many of his morally-failed choices as mayor and as an individual. Eventually, a combination of Chloe forcing him to unjustly fire Ms. Bustier and Gabriel scandalizing him with doctored footage causes Andre to step down as mayor.

Wonder Woman
",
[90]
and her design resembles the likes of

when unmasked in the English dub, Imari Williams when masked in the English dub) is an owl-themed superhero and a member of the United Heroez who Mr. Damocles is a fan of. Her costume and demeanor is presumably based upon

Prior to her official debut, a different version of Sparrow was originally conceived as a member of the Quantic Kids, a team of teenage superheroes that Ladybug and Cat Noir were a part of in the early production of the series, although the entire concept was ultimately disregarded.
[92]
Like how Knightowl is presumably based upon Batman, Sparrow is presumably based upon Batman's sidekick,
Robin

Dick Grayson

Nightwing
.
- Aeon Hill / Uncanny Valley
