Personal life

He met his wife Jackie Shaw O'Neill when they appeared together in a production of
The Sound of Music
. He and Jackie have three daughters, Meghan, Gillian and Caitlin. On November 17, 1998, O'Neill died of heart failure at the age of 70 at St. John's Medical Center in Santa Monica.
