I feel this should have an article in itself. I do not fully understand the intricate differences between the parties involved in getting a product to market and to consumers. For example who is responsible for the pressing of a release? Marketing? Do labels franchise out rights in other markets like how coke gives bottling rights in other countries? Who handles logistics? I thought major chains bought from labels and independent shops from wholesalers - why do labels just not press themselves (in-house or at a plant) and deliver to wholesalers and major chains? Some distributors on this list are also labels, adding to the confusion. Either a section within the record label article or a separate article is warranted.
