war es Brauch, großere Heeresverbande nach den Gebieten zu benennen, in denen sie hauptsachlich aktiv waren. Die Virginia-Armee war wahrend ihrer kurzen Existenz ausschließlich im Norden des Bundesstaates eingesetzt.
