Русский: Газета "Аль-Араб" ("Арабы") впервые вышла в Багдаде 4 июля 1917 года, спустя примерно четыре месяца после того как британские войска отвоевали город у турок, тем самым освободив его от трехвекового господства Османской империи. Газета появилась в переломный период в истории Ирака. Она выпускалась британскими властями и служила рупором британской администрации на фоне поднимающейся волны иракского и арабского национализма. В ней османские турки представлялись иноземцами, а британцы ? освободителями, и предпринимались попытки расширить влияние британской военной и политической стратегии, направленной против Османской империи в Первой мировой войне. И название, и печатаемые на первой странице выходные данные (в которых газета называлась "арабской по своей сути и целям, учрежденной в Багдаде арабами и для арабов"), и публикуемые в газете материал, ? все в газете было направлено на формирование образа местного издания, отстаивающего интересы арабского населения. В передовице первого номера турки были названы "сыновьями Гога и Магога, желающими истребить арабов ? этот добрый народ, который в прошлом внес неоценимый вклад в дело приумножения знания и прогресса, мирного сосуществования и гуманизма…". Материалы издания были посвящены таким темам, как политика, новости, история и литература. Редактором газеты был ученый и богослов Анистас аль-Кармили, иракский христианин ливанского происхождения. Поначалу газета "Аль-Араб" выходила каждые два дня, но начиная с 28-го номера стала публиковаться ежедневно, кроме воскресенья. Вначале она состояла из двух страниц, периодически дополнявшихся приложениями, но начиная с 1 января 1918 года стала печататься на четырех страницах. В мае 1920 года она перестала издаваться, и ее заменила газета "Аль-Ирак" ("Ирак"), первый номер которой увидел свет 1 июня 1920 года.

Francais : Le journal Al-Arab parut pour la premiere fois a Bagdad le 4 juillet 1917, quatre mois environ apres la prise de la ville, jusque-la sous la domination des Turcs, par les troupes britanniques, mettant fin a trois siecles d'emprise ottomane. Le journal, cree a une periode critique de l'histoire de l'Irak, etait publie par les autorites britanniques et leur servait de porte-parole, alors que le nationalisme irakien et arabe etait en pleine ascension. Depeignant les Ottomans comme des etrangers et les Britanniques comme des liberateurs, le journal avait pour objectif de developper la strategie politique et militaire britannique contre les Ottomans pendant la Premiere Guerre mondiale. Le titre, l'ours (qui declarait que le journal fut ≪ etabli, avec des principes et des objectifs arabes, a Bagdad par des Arabes pour les Arabes ≫) et le contenu visaient a souligner son caractere local et son allegeance arabe. Un editorial paru dans le premier numero decrit les Turcs comme des ≪ fils de Gog et Magog, cherchant a annihiler les Arabes, ce grand peuple qui œuvra autrefois de facon memorable en faveur du savoir, du progres, de la cohabitation et de l'humanite… ≫. Le journal abordait des sujets tels que la politique, l'actualite, l'histoire et la litterature. Irakien chretien d'origine libanaise, le theologien et erudit Anist?s al-Karmil? en etait l'editeur. Al-Arab paraissait initialement tous les deux jours, puis a partir du numero 28, il fut publie tous les jours, sauf le dimanche. Le quotidien comportait d'abord 2 pages, et parfois des supplements, mais il passa a 4 pages le 1 er janvier 1918. Il cessa d'exister en mai 1920. Il fut remplace par le journal Al-Irak , dont le premier numero parut le 1 er  juin 1920.

English: The newspaper Al-Arab (The Arabs) was first published in Baghdad on July 4, 1917, some four months after British troops captured the city from the Turks, thereby ending three centuries of Ottoman rule. The paper appeared at a critical period in the history of Iraq. Issued by the British authorities, it served as a mouthpiece for the British administration at a time of rising Iraqi and Arab nationalism. It depicted the Ottomans as foreigners and the British as liberators and sought to advance broader British military and political strategy against the Ottomans in World War I. The title, masthead (which declared the paper “Arabic in principle and purpose, established in Baghdad by Arabs and for Arabs”), and content all sought to present the paper as homegrown and Arab in allegiance. An editorial in the first issue described the Turks as “sons of Gog and Magog, who want to annihilate the Arabs, this good race that in its past served knowledge, progress, coexistence and humanity in an unforgettable manner….” The paper covered politics, news, history, and literature. It was edited by the theologian and scholar Anist?s al-Karmil?, an Iraqi Christian of Lebanese descent. Al-Arab initially appeared every two days but beginning with issue 28 was published every day except Sunday. The paper was at first two pages, with supplements at various times, but it became four pages starting with the January 1, 1918 issue. It ceased publication in May 1920 and was replaced by the newspaper Al-Iraq (Iraq), the first issue of which appeared on June 1, 1920.

Portugues: O jornal Al-Arab (Os arabes) foi publicado pela primeira vez em Bagda em 4 de julho de 1917, cerca de quatro meses apos as tropas britanicas capturarem a cidade dos turcos, terminando assim com tres seculos de dominacao otomana. O jornal surgiu em um periodo critico da historia do Iraque. Publicado por autoridades britanicas, ele serviu como porta-voz da administracao britanica em um momento de ascensao do nacionalismo iraquiano e arabe. Ele descrevia os otomanos como forasteiros e os britanicos como libertadores, buscando ampliar a estrategia militar e politica britanica contra os otomanos na Primeira Guerra Mundial. Um editorial na primeira edicao descrevia os turcos como “filhos de Gog e Magog, que querem aniquilar os arabes, esta boa raca que, no passado, serviu ao conhecimento, ao progresso, a coexistencia e a humanidade de modo inesquecivel”. O jornal abrangia politica, noticias, historia e literatura. Ele foi editado pelo teologo e estudioso Anist?s al-Karmil?, um cristao iraquiano de ascendencia libanesa. Espanol: El periodico Al-Arab (Los Arabes) fue publicado por primera vez en Bagdad el 4 de julio de 1917, unos cuatro meses despues de que las tropas britanicas tomaran la ciudad que estaba en manos de los turcos y, asi, pusieran fin a tres siglos de dominio otomano. El periodico aparecio en un momento critico de la historia de Irak. Publicado por las autoridades britanicas, sirvio como portavoz de la administracion britanica en una epoca de creciente nacionalismo iraqui y arabe. Retrataba a los otomanos como extranjeros y a los britanicos como libertadores, y buscaba impulsar la estrategia mas amplia, tanto militar como politica, que Gran Bretana habia formulado contra los otomanos durante la Primera Guerra Mundial. El periodico buscaba presentarse como un producto nacional y leal al pueblo arabe a traves del contenido, del titulo y del encabezado (el cual declaraba que era ≪arabe, en principios y propositos, establecido en Bagdad por los arabes y para este pueblo≫). Un editorial del primer numero describe a los turcos como ≪hijos de Gog y Magog: quieren aniquilar a los arabes, a esa buena etnia que, en el pasado, ha prestado servicio al conocimiento, al progreso, a la coexistencia y a la humanidad y ha dejado una huella imborrable...≫. El periodico trataba la politica, las noticias, la historia y la literatura. Su editor era Anist?s al-Karmil?, teologo y erudito cristiano iraqui, de ascendencia libanesa. Al-Arab comenzo a publicarse cada dos dias, pero, a partir del numero 28, se editaba todos los dias, excepto los domingos. Al principio, contaba con dos paginas y, a menudo, estaba acompanado de suplementos. A partir del 1 de enero de 1918, comenzo a publicarse en cuatro paginas. Dejo de publicarse en mayo de 1920, cuando lo reemplazo el periodico Al-Iraq (Irak), cuyo primer numero salio el 1 de junio de 1920.

Per U.S. Circ. 38a , the following countries are not participants in the Berne Convention or Universal Copyright Convention and there is no presidential proclamation restoring U.S. copyright protection to works of these countries on the basis of reciprocal treatment of the works of U.S. nationals or domiciliaries:
  • East Timor, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Marshall Islands, Palau, Somalia, Somaliland, and South Sudan .
