The famous ≪Citadel of Saladin≫ is considered the most important Islamic monuments in Sinai. It is located at Pharaoh's Island, an atoll located 8 km south of Taba, which mediates the Gulf of Aqaba summit. It was established by Saladin in the late twelfth century. It was erected to secure the Gulf of Aqaba against foreign invasions, and to secure the pilgrimage route and trade routes, especially after attempts of "Reginald" Amir Karak to seizure of Mecca and Medina, having succeeded King equitable brother Salah al-Din in his attempts to refute, Saladin decided to establish this castle to control the region. The castle is Held on Ntoaan prominent land of the island, Ahatthma fences, but Bragg for protection and control. When standing on top of the highest tower in the Citadel of Saladin one can see clearly the borders of four countries namely Egypt, Saudia Arabia, Jordan and Israel.
