You are suggesting that
Antonio Carlos (munisipyo sa Brasil, Santa Catarina, lat -27,50, long -48,84)
should be merged with
Antonio Carlos (lungsod)
. Two comments about that:
- Proposing a merge of two articles is better done using the template {{merge|Other-title}}. Or just redirect one to the other, if they are obvious duplicates - replace article text with #redirect [[Other-title]].
- I disagree about this merge. One article is about a human settlement, the other about an administrative unit. Two different kinds of things, even though in some countries they may roughly coincide. But it is not a big deal for me if you wish to merge them.

- The thing is the article contents of these two are exactly similar. -

- Yes, the bot-generated content will be very similar. But the articles should grow in different directions if/when they are expanded, with politics and stuff in the article about the administrative unit, and more geography, culture and history in the article about the settlement. Compare for example the two articles about Stockholm:
en:Stockholm
and
en:Stockholm Municipality
.

- Well, my personal opinion for these matters is they should be merged. But well it is just a personal preference. What would be best for cebwiki should be our foremost concern. With that said, I am open for your ideas. -

Many IP addresses change owner frequently. Depending on your ISP, you might get a new IP every day, or every time you restart. Therefore, it is generally not a good idea to block an IP for more than a short time -- tomorrow some innocent guy might have that IP, and the vandal have something else. Unless you see vandalism from the same IP repeated over a long period, indefinite blocks are inappropriate.

- Is it possible to know the country of origin based on the IP address? I hope we can find a way. Vandalism from IP address outside of the Philippines deserves a harsh punishment.
- There are several online tools for determining the location of the ISP of an IP. See for example
whois.com
.

- I've removed the black, it was nearly 6 years ago so its quite possible the IP could have changed or the user learnt. Generally I'd block for a few days then a week, then longer but not permanent for IPs.

If you think an article should be deleted, the best way is to add the template {{delete}} at the top of the article, instead of what you did with The Narrows.

Hi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin
will still be able to access the IP
. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on
better tools
to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can
read more on Meta
. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can
subscribe
to
the weekly technical newsletter
.
We have
two suggested ways
this identity could work.
We would appreciate your feedback
on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can
let us know on the talk page
. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you.
