have broken up. The Canadian stars have called off their engagement and gone their separate ways,

The

actor hinted about their split on
Twitter
Feb. 16. “Alone again, naturally. Heartbroken,” he wrote in a message that he later deleted. “I won’t be on twitter for awhile gang. Getting dumped rules.”
Just five days before their wedding, the model decided not to walk down the aisle with the Playboy founder. “The wedding is off,” Hefner tweeted. “Crystal has had a change of heart.” The two reconciled and tied the knot in December 2012. They were married until the day Hefner died in September 2017.
Baruchel, 30, and Pill, 27, became engaged in December 2010 after meeting on the set of hockey flick

. The twosome had plans to wed in September 2012 in Quebec.
“We’re getting married at an ice wine vineyard. Me and the groomsmen will all be wearing kilts!” the

But in an interview with Victoria’s

last month, Baruchel explained why the wedding never happened. “Unfortunately, we’re two busy people who are intrinsically lazy,” he said. “So in our free time, the last thing we want to do is book flights and organize hotel rooms for people.” He added, “But it’ll happen at some point.”
Or not at all, as it turns out. On Sunday, March 3, a solo Pill attended the 30th annual PaleyFest for The Newsroom at Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. Smiling on the carpet, the HBO actress was missing one conspicuous accessory for her photo op: her engagement ring.

Nick Lachey put a ring worth an estimated $125,000 on Minnillo’s finger in November. The Bader & Garrin-designed sparkler features an approximately 4-carat stone in the center and trapezoid diamonds on the side.
“Working and living in Canada is something that [Baruchel] is very passionate about. He wanted her up there more often, but she really likes Newsroom and the opportunities that are there for her,” the insider explains. “They were doing the long distance [thing] a lot.”
Baruchel’s rep did not respond for comment.
