'Shankill bomber' is returned to jail

The IRA man convicted of killing nine civilians in Northern Ireland was sent back to prison yesterday.

Sean Kelly, 33, known as the "Shankill bomber", was arrested in Belfast yesterday and taken to Maghaberry prison.

Kelly was sentenced to life imprisonment for his involvement in the bombing of a fish shop in 1993. He was released under licence in 2000 after the Good Friday Agreement.

The 33 year-old had been photographed at riots in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast, where he lives, earlier this year.
