Hollywood diva Jennifer Lopez was awarded around $US545,000 ($A638,000) after filing a lawsuit to stop her ex-husband from publishing a tell-all memoir of their marriage, court papers showed today.
A Los Angeles arbitrator made the award after actress-singer Lopez, 38, sued former husband Ojani Noa for breach of contract, claiming that the book violated a previous agreement not to reveal details of their relationship.
In a written ruling, arbitrator Richard Chernick also issued a permanent injunction forbidding Noa, 31, from "criticising, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging" Lopez.
Noa was also ordered to hand over to the actress all copies of materials related to the book.
"The book proposal clearly contains material that violates the terms referenced (in) ... the settlement agreement," the arbitrator stated.
