Police officer.
Born at
Winnipeg
on 26 June 1932, son of Edward Finney and Marjorie Milne-Todd, he worked as a machinist for the
Canadian Pacific Railway
then, in 1961, he joined the West Kildonan Police Department which became part of the Winnipeg Police Department in 1973. He was put in charge of the School Patrol and Safety Program in 1969, a position that he held until his death. He served on the Board of Directors for
Marymound School
and was an advisor on the West Kildonan Lord Selkirk community. In 1978, he was given a
Manitoba Good Citizenship Award
. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, YMCA, and
Masons
(Ionic Lodge). He died at
Winnipeg
on 31 October 1986 and was entombed at the
Glen Eden Memorial Garden
. He is commemorated by
Constable Edward Finney School
.
