Crunchyroll to Stream Magical Girl Boy Anime

Crunchyroll to stream spring co-production worldwide except in Japan, Greater China

Media service Crunchyroll announced on Friday that it will stream the Magical Girl Boy , the spring television anime based on Icchokusen M?kon 's Mah? Sh?jo Ore ( Magical Girl Ore or literally, I Am a Magical Girl) manga, as it airs in Japan. Crunchyroll will stream its co-production worldwide except in Japan and Greater China.

The manga centers on Saki Uno, a high school girl and rookie idol who has a crush on Mohiro, her best friend's older brother. When Mohiro is kidnapped by demons, Saki hastily makes a shady contract to be able to transform into a magical girl, which transforms her body into that of a handsome man.

Itsur? Kawasaki ( Rental Magica , Shining Hearts , Tsukiuta. THE ANIMATION ) is directing the anime at Pierrot+ . Yukiko Ibe ( Nanatsuiro Drops , Jewelpet Twinkle , Onigiri ) is designing the characters.

Ayaka ?hashi stars in the anime as Saki Uno (pictured left in visual above and below) and Kaito Ishikawa plays Saki as a man. Similarly, Sachika Misawa and Wataru Hatano voices Sakuyo Mikage (pictured right) as a woman and man, respectively.

Aya Hisakawa plays Saki's mother Sayori (pictured below left), and Kazuya Ichijou plays Kokoro-chan (below right), the mascot binding Saki and the others under a magical girl contract.

The cast also includes: (pictured below from left to right):

Ohashi performs the anime's opening theme song "NOISY LOVE POWER☆." STAR ☆ PRINCE, composed of the show's voice actors Toyonaga and Yusa performs the ending theme song "Garasu no Ginga" (Galaxy of Glass).

The anime premieres on April 2 on AT-X at 10:00 p.m and on Tokyo MX the following day. A special preview broadcast of the first and second episodes premieres on March 25 on AT-X at 7:30 p.m.

M?kon published the manga in Fusion Product 's Comic Be magazine in 2012. Fusion Product published two compiled book volumes for the manga in 2014. The manga received a new serialization in Comic Be in June 2014.
